Sekedar informasi kepada setiap umat Kristen (Pengikut Kristus) Indonesia bahwa saudara-saudari seiman yang berasal dari etnis Arab ada puluhan juta di Timur-Tengah. Mereka adalah orang-orang Arab yang biasa menggunakan bahasa Arab maupun budaya Arab.
Perlu diingat bahwa orang-orang Arab beragama Kristen sudah terlebih dahulu ada/eksis jauh sebelum islam lahir pada abad ketujuh tersebut.
Kekristenan sendiri sudah terlebih dulu ada pada abad pertama. Oleh karena itu tidak ada umat Kristen Arab nyontek budaya islam karena umat Kristen Arab sudah ada terlebih dulu. Mari kita buka wawasan bahwa misalnya budaya Arab, termasuk membaca Kitab/qiroat dengan tilawah, musik (dengan gambus, kecapi, rebana), berpakaian gamis, berpeci, dan seterusnya itu sudah menjadi tradisi/budaya Timur-Tengah. Disaat islam belum lahir pada abad ke-7 Kekristenan sudah pun menggunakan budaya-budaya ini. Bahkan bagi kita yang belum pernah mendengar tentang informasi ini akan terperangah dengan sikap Muslim Arab sendiri yang tidak mempermasalahkan hal ini, karena mereka sama-sama tahu itu budaya Timur Tengah dan mereka sama-sama menggunakan budaya-budaya tersebut untuk mengungkapkan iman. Adapun istilah sholat/sholah, sholawat, qosidah, alhamdulillah, insya Allah, Allahul Abi, Al-Masih, dst itu ternyata sudah biasa digunakan oleh umat Kristen Arab. Karena bagi umat Kristen Arab untuk menyebut God atau sesembahannya dalam bahasa mereka adalah Allah dan Allah mereka adalah Allah yang Esa yang telah Nuzul ke dunia sebagai Yesus Kristus atau Yasu'a Al-Masih 2000 tahun lalu dimana sebagai manusia Dia banyak mengajarkan hukum kasih yang luarbiasa, praktek kasih yang luarbiasa, dan puncak pelayanan-Nya adalah ketika kasih-Nya Ia mengalami sengsara, disalibkan, wafat, dan pada hari ketiga bangkit mulia dan terangkat ke Sorga. Semua itu karena cinta-Nya pada seluruh manusia agar manusia dapat diselamatkan.
Karena Kitab Suci sendiri mengatakan bahwa tidak ada nama lain yang karenanya kita dapat diselamatkan, kecuali hanya dalam Nama Yesus Kristus. Kembali lagi ke istilah-istilah Arab tersebut, tentu mereka menggunakannya karena itulah bahasa mereka sebagai orang Arab yang lahir di tanah Arab. Misal: Orang Kristen yang masuk kamar berkomunikasi/berinteraksi dengan Allah atau berdoa itu pun mereka sebut sholat. Bahkan setiap kali mereka membuat hubungan dengan Allah melalui doa spontan (ketika mau makan, minum, belajar, bepergian, dst) atau berdoa dengan teks doa yang dirumuskan (Doa 7 waktu, dll), doa pada pertemuan jema'ah semua itu mereka sebut SHOLAT/SHOLAH.
Sebab sholat itu memuji Tuhan, memohon, dialog /interaksi/hubungan dengan-Nya maupun bersyukur kepada-Nya. Jadi tidak benar sebagaimana yang dikatakan umat Ortodoks Timur Indonesia bahwa istilah sholat cuma disempitkan pada doa 7 waktu yang dirumuskan itu karena realitas, de facto tidak demikian, lha wong 'Doa Bapa Kami' yang berdiri sendiri saja juga disebut SHOLAT AR-ROBBANIYYAH (Doa yang diajarkan Tuhan sendiri kepada kita).
Demikian juga dengan istilah sholawat, qosidah, alhamdulillah, dst itu biasa mereka gunakan sebab itulah bahasa mereka. Kemudian perlu juga diketahui bahwa umat Kristen Arab biasa memakai nama-nama sebagai berikut: "Abdul, Azis, Faraq, Faruq, Ashraf, Taufik, Malik, Amir, Ibrohim, Sulayman, Yunus, Buthrus, Bulus, Ya'aqub, Ishaq, Syamuil, Harun, Yuhanna, Musa, Kamil, Halim, Hilmi, Faisal, Habib, Labib, Kamal, Jibran, Nabil, Nabila, Nadir, Nazhir, Naufal, Haddad, Majdi, Nashrallah, Athallah, Mansur, dan seterusnya". Itulah realitanya bahwa ini pengungkapan iman melalui budaya mereka dan Kristen sama sekali tidak mencontek.
Kalau pun ada orang yang kurang wawasan tetap munuduh bahwa Kristen mencontek toh realitanya Kekristenan lebih dahulu ada di Timur-Tengah, karena pada hari Pentakosta dan pewartaan Para Rasul pada abad ke-1 banyak orang Arab sudah bertobat dan dibaptis (menjadi Kristen)."Orang Kristen" dalam bahasa Arab atau dunia Arab sering disebut Masihiyyin, sedangkan istilah "Kekristenan" atau "Kristiani"
adalah Masihiyyah. Kemudian Ad-Din Masihi adalah "Agama Kristen". Sedangkan sebutan Nasroni itu adalah dalam perspektif Muslim dalam menyebut orang-orang pengikut 'Isa. Tapi bagi Ana pribadi 'Isa itu bukan YESUS. Tidak bisa disandingkan karena ya memang dari sudut pandang historis, teologis, kristologis TIDAK SAMA. Semoga informasi ini bermanfaat.

"Arab Christianity"
As information to every Christian (follower of Christ) Indonesia that there are tens of millions of brothers and sisters of ethnic Arab origin in the Middle East. They are Arabs who usually use Arabic and Arabic culture.

Even every time they make a connection with God through spontaneous prayer (when they want to eat, drink, study, travel, etc.) or pray with the formulated prayer text (7 times prayer, etc.), prayer at the congregation meeting they all call SHOLAT / SHOLAH.
Because the prayer praises God, pleads, dialogue / interaction / relationship with Him or thanks to Him. So it is not true as said by Eastern Orthodox Indonesians that the term prayer is only narrowed down at the formulated 7 time prayer because the reality, de facto is not so, lha wong 'Stand alone Prayer of Our Father' is also called SHOLAT AR-ROBBANIYYAH (Prayer God taught us to us).
Likewise with the term sholawat, qosidah, alhamdulillah, etc. that is what they usually use because that is their language. is Masihiyyah. Then Ad Din Din Masihi was "Christian Religion". Whereas the term Nasroni is in the Muslim perspective in referring to followers of 'Isa. But for Ana the person 'Isa is not Jesus.
